The Lok-Itt column lock is designed to fit a multitude of vehicles and applications. The above image to the left shows the Lok-Itt with the standard ignition bracket. This bracket serves 2 purposes: the first is to protect the ignition switch and the second is to prevent the steering wheel from being turned. The image on the right shows the Lok-Itt installed with the optional Airbag Protector. The Airbag Protector attaches to the ignition bracket and when locked in place on the main housing fits snugly over the face of the steering wheel protecting the airbag from theft.

There are basically 2 types of Lok-Itt column locks. The first is the permanent model. Permanent models are designed to be installed on the steering column with special hardware that cannot be removed. The advantage to the permanent model is that all that needs to be applied is the ignition bracket and the lock. there is no need to remove and store the entire unit each time the vehicle is started. The ignition bracket and lock can be easily stored under the seat or in a glove compartment.
The removable unit has the advantage of being completely taken off. This could be advantageous for small businesses with similar multiple vehicles or for individuals who do not want a permanent mount on their vehicle column. The disadvantage is that the unit larger and would not likely fit in the glove compartment. The Lok-Itt Column Lock is available in the 3 basic types shown below. Each type is designed to fit a specific vehicle application.

Type A Permanent: Models P300 / P301 / P302

Type B Permanent: Models P250 / P310 / P312

Type C Removable: Models 300 / 306 / 600
